Snow Accumulation is a mod that does not add any new objects to the game, although we will notice changes in the world, especially after a snowfall. This mod is responsible for making the snow accumulate during the snowfall, irregularly, giving a more realistic look.

With this mod installed, during a snowfall, we can see how the layers of snow accumulate on the terrain blocks. Snow layers are incremented during snowstorms until they reach a full 8 layers. Snow next to full blocks stacks faster, making a smoother landscape. Snow stacking is related to the average neighboring snow height as well, again adding to a smoother landscape. Snow is less likely to accumulate next to non-cube blocks such as open space or fences.

Manual Install Instructions
Download Forge above.
Open the Forge installer, choose Install Client, and click OK.
Download Snow Accumulation Mods and save it to your desktop.
Windows
Press this button combination: Windows+R
In the window that appears, type %appdata% and press Enter.
Open the .minecraft folder.
Locate the mods folder. If it doesn’t exist, create it (do not capitalize anything).
Drag Snow Accumulation into the mods folder. If given the opportunity, do not extract them.
Start your Minecraft launcher, change your profile (bottom-left dropdown box) to Forge, and play!
Mac OS
Press this button combination: ?-Shift-G
Type in ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft and press Enter.
Locate the mods folder. If it doesn’t exist, create it (do not capitalize anything).
Drag Snow Accumulation into the mods folder. If given the opportunity, do not extract them.
