NetherEx Mods 1.12.2/1.12

The NetherEx is reputed to be a particularly hostile dimension, in which the slightest mistake can have important consequences. However, once the fortresses are explored, the nether loses its interest. That’s what NetherEx developers want to fix. Indeed, this mod aims to rework the dimension of the Nether whose author has set 3 goals. Add content to this dimension, give back the urge to explore and enhance the gaming experience.
The mod is currently adding four new biomes to the Nether. They have been designed to make you vary your approach depending on the biome where you are. You’ll find ten new monsters, 34 new blocks, and you’ll be able to acquire a dozen new items.

Biomes

The Hell biome

The Hell biome is by default the “basic” biome of the Nether, improved by the author of the mod.

  • The mineral ore Amethyst is found in this biome and is mainly used to trade with pigmen.
  • The villages of Pigtificate are found only in this biome.
  • Braising may appear randomly near entities.

Ruthless Sands

It is the darkest and most ruthless biome of the Nether. Soul sand is corrupting the area, destroying the villagers, inviting the most aggressive creatures to settle and destroy the ancient sites. Sad and perilous, the navigation in this biome is long and harassing. You must constantly be vigilant because everything can be dangerous, including flora.

Besides the danger, know that there are great rewards to find, because the ruins of an ancient civilization have great treasures.

  • The main block in this biome is the Gloomy Netherrack, covered by Soul Sand.
  • The structures include quartz altars, huts and gravestones.
  • Quartz ores are 50% more numerous, and many structures contain quartz blocks.
  • There is however little glowstone, which makes this biome very dark and difficult to explore.
  • This is the only biome that can generate Thornstalks (Thorns)
  • Skeletons and Spinouts are the main mobs of this biome.

Torrid Wasteland

Overheated by lava encrusted in the rock and the magma that passes through it, this biome is hostile towards most creatures. Fire is a constant risk, and even the netherrack has been burned by extreme heat, to the point of turning into abominable creatures.

  • Fiery Netherrack is the main block of this biome. Magma also appears in the holes you could make in the ground.
  • It is the only biome that generates basalt blocks that appear in pieces embedded in the netherrack.
  • Lava pockets buried in the ground are more common, as is the fire that spreads across the surface.
  • The appearance rate of Quartz and Glowstone is normal in this biome.
  • Salamanders may appear in this biome, as well as Withers.

Fungi Forest

Fueled by nether corruption and intense conditions, the mushroom has taken over vast sections in the dimension. The spores become animated and spread their contagion while the large living mushrooms viciously protect themselves from each other. The heat and light create an ideal nest for one of the inhabitants of the Nether. However, it will be brave enough to face the queen ..

  • Hyphae is the block that serves as the main layer in this biome and you will find it just below the Lively Netherrack.
  • The biome is filled with giant mushrooms that appear across the biome in different shapes and sizes.
  • Enoki mushrooms grow on the roof and are collectible if you can get there.
  • A high concentration of Glowstone is at the roof level.
  • There is less quartz present in this biome, but it can appear inside the treasure chests.
  • This biome is home to rare Ghast fortresses that can be used to summon Queen Ghast.
  • Mogus, spores and Spore Creepers are found in this biome and can be easily reproduced.

Artic Abyss

An old war zone, frozen for a long time in a last attempt to preserve the dimension of fire. Old remnants of war still exist with prisons and chains across the biome. There you will find long-time occupants who have the goal of defending the area.

  • A layer of Frostburn Ice covers the ice Netherrack as the main composition of the biome.
  • It is the only biome where Rime Ore can be found in the coffers.
  • The pools of Ichor can be found only in this biome.
  • Giant Giant Broken Chains and Chain Islands can be found here made from Weathered Iron Blocks. The obsidian prisons are also generated.
  • The Wights, Brutes and Bone Spiders are in this biome, with a high concentration of Ghasts.

Blocks

NetherEx introduces a bunch of new blocks that can be found in different biomes. Some of these blocks are needed to make objects. Under each picture you will find a description of the block as well as information on how to acquire it.

The four new biomes come with their own variant of the Netherrack. The four types are:

  • Fiery – can be found in: Torrid Wasteland .: The first four on the top left.
  • Gllomy – can be found in: Ruthless Sands. Screen: The four at the top right.
  • Lively – is located in: Fungi Forest. Screen: The first four in the lower left.
  • Icy – is in: Arctic Abyss. Screen: The four bottom right.

Each of these variations is capable of providing quartz. The drop rates are the same as those of the default nether. The creation of the Netherbrick blocks with these new variants is done in the same way as the basic Netherbrick. Making leather from the Netherrack turns it into brick. Each Netherbrick variant can be transformed into stairs, slabs, fences, fence gates and walls. All variants of Netherrack can be ignited.

Basalt

  • Raw basalt appears only within the Torrid Wasteland biome. It is quite common. Any pick can be used to retrieve it
  • Smooth basalt can be made by placing 4 basalt in a 2 × 2 square in the craft table.
  • Basalt bricks can be made by placing 4 smooth basalt in a 2 × 2 square in the craft table.
  • Basalt Pillars has two different textures. The lateral texture is three columns next to each other, while the upper texture is nine squares. It can be made by placing 4 bricks of basalt in a 2 × 2 square in the craft table.

Each block of basalt can be used to craft stairs, slabs, fences, fence gates and walls.
Mushroom Blocks

Red Elder Mushroom Cape mushrooms, Brown Elder Mushroom Cap and Elder Mushroom Stem can be obtained from natural generation or cultivated. To acquire these blocks, you must use a golden bone ax or you will not be able to recover them.

The Enoki mushroom is a plant that grows on the roof of the Fungi Forest biome. The block itself is not harvestable. Breaking the base of the Enoki makes sure that all the other parts break as well as the Chorus plants of the End.

Minerals

  • Nether Amethyst ore is found exclusively in the Hell biome. Its appearance rate is equal to Quartz, but the size of veins is limited to 3 blocks, which makes it more difficult to find. You can pick it up with any pick to receive Amethyst Crystal.
  • Amethyst blocks can be made by putting nine amethyst crystals in a craft table.
  • The Nether Rime is found only in the Arctic Abyss biome. It is in veins of 4 and can be extracted with any pickaxe to get a Crystal Rime. The Nether Rime is also a weak light source with a level of 8.
  • The Nether Rime blocks are made by putting nine Nether Rime crystals together in a craft table. It is a light source with a level of 14 (identical to the torch). It can also be used to freeze water, lava and mobs.

The various blocks

  • Tilled Soul Sand can only be made by pruning Soul Sand with a gold hoe. It must be watered, after which it can be used to grow Nether Wart.
  • Soul Glass is a transparent block that prevents any light from passing. It is acquired by making leather a piece of Soul Sand in an oven. You can also create soul glass panes using a recipe similar to that using conventional glass.
  • Frostburn Ice occurs naturally on the tops of the Arctic Abyss biome and is the only place where it can be collected. It is not slippery, unlike ice, and it does not melt. He also has a less saturated tone.
Worn Iron Block generates giant chains in the Arctic Abyss biome. It can be broken normally to recover Iron Nuggets.
  • Hypae is generated as the top layer of the Fungi Forest biome. By default, it can only be collected via the Silk Touch enchantment, but there is a configuration parameter that allows it to be propagated on Lively Netherrack blocks.
  • Bone Sliver is a block that serves as a decorative option for bone blocks. It is naturally generated within certain fossils in the Arctic Abyss biome. It can be made by filling two adjacent columns in a craft table with bone meal and leaving an empty column.

Plants

It will inflict half a heart damage when it hits an entity that is not on its blacklist. You can manually place thornstalks on top of each other to make up to three high.
  • Red Elder Mushrooms can only be found by killing the Red Mogus. They do not spread. By eating them, they provide ten healing hearts and completely deplete your hunger bar. To become a giant red mushroom, it must be placed in the center of a 3 × 3 Hypae square. Use Wither dust to grow it.
  • Brown Elder Mushrooms can only be found by killing a Brown Mogus. They do not spread either. Eating them takes three and a half damage, but your hunger bar fills up. To become a giant Elder Brown mushroom, it must be placed in the center of a 3 × 3 Hypae square. Use Wither dust to grow it.

Special blocks

  • Urn of Sorrow is a unique block used to summon the boss Ghast Queen. By default, it is empty, but you can fill it with a Potion of The Lost. Use a Ghast’s tear on the filled urn to complete the summoning.

  • Blue Fire appears naturally in the Arctic Abyss biome and can also be placed via a lighter. It does not inflame you, but inflicts 2 damage hearts every half-second. Like ordinary fire, it spreads and burns flammable blocks, however, it can be placed on any other solid block and burns to infinity.]

Items

The tools

Gold bone tools are all designed as normal gold tools, but with Wither bones instead of sticks. The golden bone hammer is designed in the shape of a pick but with gold blocks rather than gold bars.

Gold bone tools have unique properties that change depending on your size. In the normal world they lose 16 durability points per use, and have the harvest level of gold tools. When used in the Nether, they use only one point of durability per use and have a harvest level identical to iron tools.

Armor
The two variants of the salamander’s armor are identical in terms of statistics, but their appearance varies according to the skin you use. Wearing a full set of salamander armor, even if you have a mixture of black or orange pieces, gives you immunity against fire damage.

The craft materials

  • Fiery Nether Brick, Icy Brick Nether, Gloomy Nether Brick and Lively Nether Brick are items you get when you cast the Nether’s new blocks. Combining four of them squares in a craft table turns them into Netherrack bricks.
  • Black salamander skin and single salamander skin are drops from black salamanders and salamanders, respectively. They are used to make the armor presented just above.
  • Wither Bone is obtained from Wither Skeletons and is used to make gold bone tools. It can also be turned into wither powder by placing it in a craft table.
  • Nether Rime Crystal is what you get when you harvest Nether Rime. It is used to make Rime blocks and a Rime and Steel.

The food

  • Raw Ghast meat can be found when you kill Ghasts. Restore two bars of hunger and has two saturation bars.

  • The cream of frozen magma is made by making leather a Magma cream in an oven. It only restores half a bar of hunger and saturation.
  • Enoki Mushroom is a loot of the Enoki plant that sits at the top of the Fungi Forest biome. He restores a bar and a half of hunger and two and a half bars of saturation.

Special objects

  • Obsidian Boat is a lava resistant boat that can be used to cross the lava oceans. It is manufactured by placing five U-shaped obsidian blocks in the craft table.
  • The Nether amethyst crystal comes from the Nether amethyst ore and is the main commercial object of the Pigtificates.
  • Rime and Steel is used to place Blue Fire. To make it, place a Nether Rime Crystal with a lighter in a craft table. It also allows to light portals of the nether.
  • Wither dust is used to speed up the shoots. It is created by placing a Wither Bone in a craft table.
  • Frostfang is a loot of Bone Spiders. When used as a potion ingredient, it causes the Frostbite effect that stops any health regeneration on the affected entity.
  • Spores are loots of Spore Creepers and Spores. When used as a potion ingredient, it causes an effect that causes the appearance of spores around the affected entity.

The village of Pigficates

The villages are only in the Hell biome. They can appear with a variety of huts, styles and different decorations. Note that large villages are much rarer. Each viable hut can generate two Pigtificates.

To breed pigtificates, you must give them Elder Mushrooms. Larger villages can also bring up the chef’s cabin. Pigificates can trade in the same way as villagers and there are seven different roles of Pigtificates. Trades are not indicated by the author who wishes to keep it secret.
