Chat Tweaks is a mod that will allow us to get more out of the Minecraft chat, adding new features and customize different options offered by this form of communication with other players. It is a client mod, so we can use its functionalities in public servers.

With this mod we can use emoticons from Twitch, BetterTTV and FrankerFaceZ. We can preview any link that is published in the Minecraft chat. We can create several chat tabs, create private channels and perform whispers. We can also filter chat messages and make the text stand out when someone quotes our character, among other things.

- By default it supports Twitch emotes, BetterTTV and FrankerFaceZ emotes
- Simple Emote menu to go along with it, in case you can’t remember your Twitch emote codes.
- Image Link Preview
- Links in Minecraft pointing to an image will be previewed right there when clicked on. No need to open them in a browser!
- Chat Tabs
- Ability to group messages logically using RegEx patterns.
- Ability to set a message prefix to quickly respond to whispers.
- Ability to set exclusive channels, which will cause messages not to appear on other tabs whose patterns fit as well.
- Message Filters
- Ability to redirect messages to appear on the side bar or as a notification on the bottom of the screen, similar to what ChatFlow allowed you to do.
- By default, “You can only sleep at night” is redirected to a notification on the bottom and common command output is redirected to the side.
- Ability to simply completely hide messages.
- Message Reformatting
- In case you hate Minecraft’s “<Player> Message” style, you can easily change it to whatever you like using the sender and message variable.
- Message Highlights
- When another player mentions your name, the message will be highlighted with a red background.
- Ability to set up further highlighted words.

Manual Install Instructions
Download Forge above.
Open the Forge installer, choose Install Client, and click OK.
Download Chat Tweaks Mods and save it to your desktop.
Windows
Press this button combination: Windows+R
In the window that appears, type %appdata% and press Enter.
Open the .minecraft folder.
Locate the mods folder. If it doesn’t exist, create it (do not capitalize anything).
Drag Chat Tweaks into the mods folder. If given the opportunity, do not extract them.
Start your Minecraft launcher, change your profile (bottom-left dropdown box) to Forge, and play!
Mac OS
Press this button combination: ?-Shift-G
Type in ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft and press Enter.
Locate the mods folder. If it doesn’t exist, create it (do not capitalize anything).
Drag Chat Tweaks into the mods folder. If given the opportunity, do not extract them.
Start your Minecraft launcher, change your profile (bottom-left dropdown box) to Forge, and play!
