Quark Mods 1.12.2

We have all imagined some additions that could be nice in Minecraft without ever seeing them arrive, and yet it was all over the top: they would not completely change the gameplay, and would remain “close” to the universe of Minecraft, while being helpful. When you know how to modder, it is clearly easier to add these features, as Vazkii (especially known for his mod Botania ) did it with his mod Quark.

Support 1.12.2

Quark’s goal is simple: create a gaming experience similar to the “Vanilla” experience, as stated in the mod motto “Anything that could be added to Quark could be added to the vanilla game without compromising its gameplay “ . Physical Point: as some know, a quark is an “elementary” particle (even if it is elementary would be very quick to work), composing the nucleons, themselves components of the atom: the Quark is therefore some very small thing. Quark thus plays on adding very small things to create a complete mod, and each of these additions can be disabled via the “Mod” menu of Minecraft.

Redstone

Let’s start with an addition that many dream of seeing happen on Minecraft: Dispensers can now plant seeds! All Vanilla “seeds” work, however, if the soil intended to serve as a support is suitable: Seeds, carrots, potatoes and beets on plowed land; Chorus Flowers on Endstone and Nether warts on Soul Sand. It is also possible to plant Cocoa Beans by placing the dispenser in front of a Jungle Wood:

Dispensers can also place blocks and put a CD in a Jukebox. ( 1.11+ )

Obsidian Pressure Plates only work for players. Other entities (mobs and items) will not activate them.

The Weather Sensor will activate in case of bad weather (rain, snow or thunderstorms) and will emit a complete Redstone signal (16 blocks long). It can be reversed with a simple right click to be activated in case of good weather

The Watcher ender will emit a complete Redstone signal if the player looks at the block (slider). Does not work if a block obstructs vision (even for transparent blocks):

Inventory Management

Quark adds the ability to use the item Swap Shortcut (Basic F) directly in inventory to equip you with an item in your secondary hand.

You can use the “Deposit” button to drop all the items in your inventory (apart from the items equipped in the armor slot, in the secondary hand and in the hotbar) in the chests or Shulker Boxes nearby (radius of 3 around the player)

3 buttons are available when you access a safe or a Shulker Box:

  • The first one allows to recover all the items;
  • The second is to put all the items in your inventory, except your armor, the items in your hotbar and your secondary hand;
  • The last button works in the same way as the previous one, except that it sends in the trunk or the Shulker Box only the items that are already there.

However, you can assign Favorite items with an Alt + left click that will not be dropped in the vaults with the shortcuts we just mentioned.

Pressing Shift and T simultaneously while viewing an item in your inventory will send the item’s information to the chat.

Generation

Quark operates various generation changes in your world:

  • Clay appears in the caves;
  • Giant mushrooms appear in marshes;
  • Large trees appear in the plains;
  • It is possible to create worlds with the “Realistic World Type” in the generation choice. The mountains are then larger and the rivers dig deeper.
  • Biomes are generated below ground with the surrounding biome as a reference. ( 1.11+ )

Basalt appears in the Nether by wide veins. It is possible to craft bricks and basalt polished from this rock, themselves differentiable slabs, stairs and low walls. Various crafts use basalt to have Vanilla rocks.

Ender Biorite appears in the End. This one does not appear naturally, since you will not find it on the main island until the Ender Dragon is killed. The Ender Biorite is derived from bricks and polished blocks, themselves differentiated into slabs, stairs and walls.

Pirate ships appear in the oceans. There are pirate skeletons (archers, warriors and a captain) who do not despawn and who can drop their hat once killed. There are plenty of chests, which can hold weapons, food, gold, TNT, Fire Charges, pirate hats and sponges.

Mobs

Quark adds two new mobs appearing in “deep” caves (below layer 20):

  • Ashen is a modified skeleton. This one shoots you with blinding arrows whose effect lasts 2.5 seconds. Their behavior, health and armor value are exactly the same as for a Vanilla Skeleton.

  • The Dwellet is a modified zombie. This one spawn invisible, but is however identifiable thanks to the particles of potions which revolve around him. Once struck, it is exposed and ends up appearing. Aside from having a little more armor, the Dweller is like a Vanilla zombie.

Ghosts appear on the Soulsand in the Nether. Their behavior, armor life points are the same as those of zombies, except that they move slightly faster. When he takes damage, he does not suffer any recoil. This is however the case when it inflicts, an effect coupled with the fact that the affected player is affected by a slight Slowness effect. Once killed, the ghost drops souls, which once used, inflicts a curse on the player for 20 minutes: mobs spawn around the player within 64 blocks ignoring any restrictions (light among others). Obviously, a curse can not be removed with a bucket of milk!

Quark operates on some additions to existing mobs:

  • In addition to magnifying and blinking before its explosion, the Creeper turns red.
  • When you ride, the horse is immune to your own attacks, so do not be afraid to hit him in an epic battle.
  • It is possible to “mow” the chickens. This one will take a point of damage and leave on the ground a feather. You can carry out the operation directly afterwards until the death of the bird.
  • In addition to this, chickens leave the feathers on the ground periodically, as for eggs.
  • Uncured sheep have slightly more armor, which allows them to take a little less damage.
  • The baby zombies are now fire!
  • Blazes spawn naturally in the Nether. Even if they are few, they will still make the Nether a bit more difficult, while making the collection of Blaze sticks more accessible.
  • In addition, Guardians spawn randomly, though rarely, in the ocean.
  • If, after attacking an Enderman, you hide yourself under two blocks high, he will teleport you to him … because if he can not come to you, it is you who will come to him! This addition is disabled in Easy.
  • If a witch kills a famous Snow Golem with a player’s nickname, that player will drop the player’s head. For those who find no use, I advise you to visit this site that you may change your mind.
  • Witches can drop their hats (as rarely as Wither Skull). The latter protects as much as a leather helmet, but offers protection to potions thrown by witches by 50%.
  • Showing Endermotes in an area made of Purpur Blocks will turn some Purpur Blocks into Shulkers.
  • The animals have random textures and the baby chickens have a unique texture. ( 1.11+ )
  • The villagers follow the emerald blocks held by the player. ( 1.11+ )

An addition that concerns more or less mobs: Activate a Noteblock where we placed a head of mob on one of the faces of the latter will emit the sound of the mob in question.

Fittings and Enchantments

Colored Runes are another rare loot from the Nether dungeons, temples and fortress. These are found in the 16 colors of Minecraft, and can be applied to items enchanted with an anvil. They allow to change the color of the enchantment of the item (purple base) to the color of the rune.

It is possible to find a treasure map in temples or Strongholds. The latter has a red X in the center that indicates the position of a buried treasure (about 3 blocks in the ground). The boot loot is random.

You have the possibility to color your elytra with one of the 16 dyes of Minecraft. You can change the colorant the number of times you want it.

Quark adds 3 new arrows:

  • Ender Arrows work like an Ender Pearl: they will teleport you to where they landed.
  • Explosive Arrows explode after touching the ground. The explosion is smaller than that caused by a TNT.
  • Torch Arrows leave a torch where they land.

Each of these arrows can be used in dispensers. Obviously, the Infinity enchantment does not work with this type of arrows.

You ask to lock small Slimes in a seal. These can be returned to nature with a simple right-click. But you can also use it in craft instead of Slimeballs. Yes, it’s horrible.

Right-clicking on a boat with a banner will add it as a sail. This item is only decorative and the banner can be recovered by destroying the boat.

An Ender Dragon appeared by the player then killed will release a Dragon Scale at his death. This object is very useful since it will be used to copy a pair of elytra from a workbench. ( 1.12+ )

Mapmakers villagers exchange “Pathfinding Maps”. They work the same way as “Explorer Maps” but for biomes. ( 1.12+ )

Other

You can sit on the stairs by right clicking on it with the empty hand.

It is possible to duplicate the fireworks by arranging, in a craft table, an empty firework and the fireworks to be duplicated.

With Quark, you have more opportunities for interactions. Indeed, when you open the chat, an “Emotes” tab appears at the bottom right of your screen, click on it will reveal 10 emotes that your player can do, which range from a simple yes / no to a splendid faceplam.

Break a block of glass droppera Glass Shards that allows you to recycle blocks of glass:

You can edit the panels by right-clicking on them.
Armor Stand crafted now have arms that you can equip with an object.

It is also possible to switch armor with the Armor Stand. ( 1.11+ )

Right-clicking with a scale on another scale will place it below the scale. Repeatable action until the ladders touch the ground.

Looking down on a ladder allows you to go down faster. You can still stop by sneaking on the ladder.

You can craft blocks with slabs by stacking two slabs in the craft table. In the case where there is already a craft of this type (for example for the Chiseled Quartz), it is this craft that remains a priority.

The craft of stairs now gives 8 stairs (where vanilla craft gave 4).

As with the slabs, you have the option of crafting blocks with stairs, which will make you 3:

Minecarts are now stackable up to 16. In addition, right-clicking on a Minecart with a block that can enter (Furnace, Chest, hopper, etc …) will put it in.You have the opportunity to craft stone tools with flint. You can still craft them with cobblestone.

Putting a clay block in the craft table will give you 4 clay balls directly.

Breaking grass or plantations with a hoe will break them in an area of 3 × 3 (5 × 5 for a diamond hoe). Right-clicking on snow with a shovel will remove a layer of it.

You can “jump” the blocks automatically with Jump Boost 2 (Like a horse and not like the “Auto Jump” function).

“B” will disable the Jump Boost.

The effects of potions will no longer shift your inventory to the right:

The sound of the door is more “heavy” when you right-click with an empty hand.

When you brew a potion with Dragon Breath, it will not leave Bottle. It will therefore be easier to automate potions with the Dragon Breath.

The wet sponges dry in the Nether. ( 1.11+ )

Shulker Boxes and Cards display their information visually instead of verbatim. ( 1.11+ )

The tools, weapons and armor also display their information visually. ( 1.11+ )

Pressing the X key displays the player’s entire inventory. It is possible to switch Hotbar by pressing 1, 2 or 3. ( 1.11+ )

It is possible to put items in the craft table by doing a Shift-Click. ( 1.11+ )

Recipe book recipes are all unlocked automatically. ( 1.12+ )

When a tool breaks, it will automatically be replaced by a similar tool. For example, if you have two Silk Touch picks and one unachieved pick, if one of the Silk Touch picks breaks, it will be replaced by the other Silk Touch pick but never the one with no enchantment. ( 1.12+ )

There is a search bar in the vaults. ( 1.12+ )

The shield takes up much less space on the screen:

How to install:
