In this guide we will see how to install a map made by other players for Minecraft Pocket Edition on Android.
This tutorial is intended for mobile players, I strongly recommend that you read it via your phone or tablet to directly download the necessary software.
To get started, make sure you have Minecraft Pocket Edition installed on your phone / tablet. Download the ES File Explorer software, an application to manage files and that allows you to automatically install some content such as mods or maps.
Once this software on your mobile / tablet, we will install NXUS Modern Architecture, a map representing a very large city in Minecraft.
NXUS Modern Architecture [.Mc.World]
NXUS Modern Architecture [.zip]
As for mods, you have the choice between two types of files. Those in Mc.World install automatically with ES File Explorer while those in .zip will have to be installed manually. You should know that most maps that are proposed will be in the Mc.World format and that .zip maps are quite rare. For the purposes of the tutorial, I preferred to use a map illustrating the two installations.
Install the map automatically:
Once you have downloaded the map, open ES Explorer files. You should find yourself on the homepage:
Click on the small bars at the top left to open the pane and go to the Download folder:
You will need to see your .McWorld file. Tap to install. If it does not work, we go to the second step!
Manual installation:
This tutorial can be scary given the many screenshots, but it’s not difficult at all. This tutorial is simply detailed step by step to be sure of not losing anyone.
If the Mc.World file could not be started or you have a .Zip file, the manipulation is really not complicated. Go back to the download folder if your file is in Mc.World, stay long pressed on it to display the bottom bar:
Press rename and change the .mcworld to .zip. If you have already downloaded the map in .zip, this step is not necessary.
Press OK and you’re done. Now still in the download folder, press the 3 small dot at the top right and then again:
Choose folder and name it as you please:
The folder should appear next to your map always in .zip. Now stay on your .zip file and with your finger, drag it to the folder you created.
Click OK. Now go to the folder where you dragged your.zip file and then long press on it to bring up the right pane:
Press Extract to and select Current Folder:
That’s it, the map is now in the folder we created. Go back to the Download folder and stay on your folder for a long time. In the bottom bar, press copy. Press the 3 bars at the top right to open the left pane and go to the Internal Storage folder:
Then go to games / com.mojang / minecraftWorlds /. Once in minecraftWorlds, in the bottom bar, tap paste:
Your map is finally installed. Launch Minecraft now and when you go to Play, you should see the map that we downloaded:
You just have to enjoy the map! I hope the tutorial was quite clear, if you have any questions, feel free to post it in comment or via the contact Us.
Good game everyone !
