But that’s not all ! You will also be able to customize your mini yourself if you want it to look like a sheep, a ghast or others. Without further ado, let’s go to the making of your “mini-you” thanks to a mod Pet Buddy.
How to get your mini yourself:
When you create your world of minecraft, you will find yourself immediately accompanied by a little you!
Look closely at your feet and you will see it!
Information: If you do not want to be accompanied for x reason, you can do it with the P key. If you press the P key again, it will reappear.
Now, what can your mini do you?

At first, it will not serve you much. He will follow you everywhere, a little lost. To start giving him an interest, offer him a chest. For that, take the chest in hand and right click on your mini-you to give it to him. Now, when you right-click on your mini-you, an inventory will appear:
Your buddy can store up to 12 items for you !
He keeps them in the chest you gave him. He cannot hold a lot hough, but he is a Tiny Buddy.
You could also equip him with a piece of armour or a weapon.
He has a tiny body, so only a helmet would fit. And he will not accept anything other than swords which is a picky buddy you got !
If you give him a sword, he will fight of mobs together with you. Let’s go get him pal.
Must your buddy be weary from combat?
Healing:
Your mini-you can be difficult when it comes to equipment and store your surplus inventory, however when it comes to food, it is far from complicated and will eat abosully all you can eat . So small but very greedy. The food allows him to recover from life and you can see his health through his pseudo which is green by default but will turn red when he is seriously injured.
My Buddy died in combat !
If your buddy happens to die, please don’t worry because he will be back. It takes a buddy from 5 to 15 minutes tops to respawn at your feet. You should be careful of your pal because he will need you as much as you need him.
With a saddle in hand, you right click your pet and carry it around on your head wherever you go. To let your buddy get off your head, you right click it again to make it come down.
One last thing…
As you might have noticed, there is the last one slot left under the Helmet and Sword slot.
How to change your buddy’s appearance
Pop in an item in the last slot is in his armor inventory, and find out what he will turn into. Most of the items are pretty logical.

Special :
- Friend : A named name tag. Your tiny you will get the skin from the player’s name.
Model Complications
Since Minecraft 1.8, the Alex skin and player model was introduced, having slightly smaller arms then her male counterpart steve.
For some internal code reason, this defaults to either one or the other, as long as the info cannot be retrieved from the internet. Sadly enough, there seems to be no way of getting that information after the game has started.
To fix this when giving your buddy another skin, a small button will appear in the bottom of your gui, enabling you to toggle between alex and steve models accordingly.
How to install:
- Download Forge Installer, petbuddy-petbuddy-1.12-2.3.1.10.jar file.
- Right click Forge Installer, Run as Administrator and press OK to install Forge. (You can skip this step if you’ve installed Minecraft Forge)
- Open Start on desktop > Open Run (Or you can use the Windows + R keyboard shortcut)
- Type %appdata% into Run and press enter.
- Go to folder /.minecraft/mods
- Put jar file of the mod you have downloaded into mods folder and then run Minecraft. Done!
