Powered by religions, books, movies, and now the Internet, they are ubiquitous. So ubiquitous, that we can find them in video games. That’s how Raptorfarian and AlexThe666 developed a mod for embedding a fantasy world based on dragons in Minecraft. This mod named Ice and fire: In addition to adding dragons, Dragons introduces new minerals, dragon eggs and dragon-related equipment into the world of Minecraft. What to spice up your game!

The Dragons
Ice and Fire adds two types of dragons to your world: fire dragons and ice dragons. The first appears naturally in almost the entire world generated, but especially in the “extreme hills” biomes. In contrast, ice dragons only live in cold areas. Note also that dragons can be found in caves housing a gold treasure.
A big part of the Ice and Fire mod is to tame a dragon. For this, you will have to find an egg that is usually found in caves. The color of the egg represents the color that the dragon will have once hatched. There are four types of colors for fire and ice dragons. Fire dragons can have a color of fire, emerald, bronze or smoked gray. While the ice dragons, they will have a color of ice, sapphire, silver or snow. To hatch the eggs you will need, respectively, flames of a fire dragon for an egg of the same type or ice that projects an ice dragon for eggs of the same type. From this egg will be born a baby dragon, which will not stop growing.
The dragons are listed in five categories. Over time, they will develop new abilities such as the ability to fly and spit fire from the second level. The color of their skin will darken as they grow and their horns grow. From the fourth level, dragons can lay eggs and thus have offspring.
Now let’s take a closer look at the various dragon attacks. All dragons have three common physical attacks. The first is a bite that deals a lot of damage. The second, a tail hit that throws the enemy back and inflicts a fall damage. The last attack is to grab the target, fly off and release it to inflict fall damage. This attack, although extremely lethal, can only be used on smaller targets.
Then the fire and ice dragons also have two elemental attacks. Ice dragons may spit an ice stream that will slow down the target and freeze the ground, and throw a ball of ice and dirt that causes significant structural damage.
The fire dragons can spit a jet of flame that will burn the target and carbonize the ground, and an explosive ball made of fire, wood and bone. The duration and damage caused by these attacks increase with the level of the dragons.
Other additions
Ice and Fire: Dragons in a whole new light in addition to adding dragons in Minecraft, introduced several elements related to these.
Killing dragons will not only give you a chance to recover an egg, but also make armor, weapons, potions and hunting trophies. Once the dragon is killed, you will be able to retrieve dragon bones that can be used to build weapons, dragon scales that can be turned into armor, dragon blood for potions and dragon skulls. which act as hunting trophies.
In the same vein as the horse armor, you can make iron, gold and diamond armor for your dragons. This in order to make them ever stronger and more resistant.
Young dragons (levels 3 and 4) can be found on perches on the surface. Most often these perches are old structures having the soil carbonized and containing a small treasure.
Adult dragons (levels 4 and 5) are often caves, containing great treasures of gold, silver, emerald and diamond. It is possible to find a nest that contains eggs.
Finally, the Ice and Fire mod also adds a new ore called money. It is at the same level as gold and may also be present in dragon caves. Silver weapons and armor possess the faculty “thorns” against the undead.
Future additions
Ice and Fire is in constant development, which means that new creatures will soon appear.
- The hippogriff is a proud and powerful predator. It is relatively rare to find one, but it can appear in almost all biomes. Their color is based on that of horses, so it is possible to find seven different types of hippogriff.’]
- Grogo (or Jellyfish) is a woman with a snake’s head. The look of this monster petrifies forever the person who looked at it. The head can be kept as a trophy.
- Fairies are living beings in the forests, living in mushrooms. To become friends with a fairy, you have to bring her the object she wants.
- Cyclops, dangerous creatures has one eye. They can raise sheep peacefully, but once attacked, they turn into a monster.
- Mermaids and naga: these sea creatures are singers and horrible monsters who do not hesitate to kill strangers who approach them.
- Seahorses: These sea horses are perfect for moving in the sea. But it is not easy to tame them, so you will need patience and success to get one. Note that seahorses can have six colors.
- The worms of death: these giant worms are extremely dangerous. They appear at night in the desert, and catch their prey like sharks, without giving them the slightest chance.
- Cockatrice: This half-chicken, half-lizard creature can be found in savannahs and deserts. Once tamed, it is useful as a guard.
- Birds of Stymphale Lake: these birds, very dangerous, throw metal feathers on their target. Once dead, it is possible to recover fur and metal on their corpse.
The troll: surely one of the most terrifying creatures. They are in deep caves without light. It is possible to find them in two forms, the stone trolls in the caves of the “hot” biomes and the snow trolls in the caves of the cold regions. The trolls turn into stone at the sight of the sun.
- Myrrhx are insects found in the desert or jungle. They are divided into castes (workers, soldiers, sentinels, guards of the queen and the queen).
- Sea Snakes: Similar to dragons, these sea creatures are able to destroy everything in their path. Unfortunately, it is impossible to tame them.
Jungle Snakes: Fast and ferocious these creatures can make excellent aerial mounts.
How to install:
- Download Forge Installer, iceandfire-1.2.1-1.11.2.jar file.
- Right click Forge Installer, Run as Administrator and press OK to install Forge. (You can skip this step if you’ve installed Minecraft Forge)
- Open Start on desktop > Open Run (Or you can use the Windows + R keyboard shortcut)
- Type %appdata% into Run and press enter.
- Go to folder /.minecraft/mods
- Put jar file of the mod you have downloaded into mods folder and then run Minecraft. Done!
