Dokucraft is one of Minecraft’s most iconic Resource Packs, if only because it has gone through the ages, finding buyers when its original creator made the apron. As much in tribute to the longevity of the pack as admiration for his unique style, Barytyrannus decided to make a remake. And what had to be a simple revisit of Dokucraft gradually turned into a full-fledged Resource Pack, drawing its textures and inspiration from multiple other packs. The result, BaryDoku quite confusing, in that he approaches the graphic style of Dokucraft while carefully marking his distance to impose his own identity.
Like his mentor, BaryDoku is characterized by a style quite close to the RPG, stone and wood constructions particularly suitable for the construction of medieval buildings. More generally, the grain of the pack lends itself to such an atmosphere: despite a 32x resolution, the feature remains simple. The same goes for the natural blocks, for which BaryDoku prefers extremely refined textures, tending towards a fantasy style perfectly in line with the rest of the pack. At times, it turns almost to the cartoon, given the motives of the herbs, the style of the fluids, the sand …
What supports this choice is that of colors. They would almost turn to darkness when compared to basic textures, which they soften. Neither the earth, nor the grass and, in general, any natural block does not detonate by its luminosity, an appreciable choice in the slightly rustic framework established by the dimension medieval RPG of BaryDoku Remix.
Also, BaryDoku succeeds in bringing a real added value to this venerable Resource Pack that is Dokucraft, skilfully mixing atmosphere of RPG, light cartoon style and carefully dosed colors, all refined by some 3D textures.
